It's now pretty much a core position of the electorate to oppose Palestinian sovereignty, and the new government (if there is a change) will certainly reflect that.
Then the Israelis guarantee their future in a perpetual slaughterhouse. Looking at the original partition map from 1948, it's apparent how much of Israel, even within the pre-1967 borders, were ethnically cleansed of Pals. By self-defining Israel as a "Jewish state", they lock the Pals out of a meaningful role, by definition. I read the arguments years ago: "the Pals have a higher birth rate, so they must be repressed, or they would take over Israel, and it would not be a 'Jewish state' anymore". We saw the same scenario in South Africa: the whites repressing the black majority, in the name of what the whites regarded as civilization. If I had a magical wand, I would wave it and make all religion disappear, because of all the strife it causes.
