Have you done any research on these REITs?
I like the divi's but don't know anything about them.

I have not looked at them, though I guess the beaten down office sector may well rebound. I know Highwoods has been a favored stock in the past.
I buy individual REIT pfd's, but currently all my REIT common stock investment is in the VNQ index fund. Back when we had a really good TMF REIT board there was a steady supply of thoughtful analysis, and I did well following some of the leads. Since the board faded and Ralph Block "reitnut" passed away I have mostly indexed them. I will say that one of the best pieces of advice I got from that board was that dividend yield was one of the poorer indications of what your long term return would be from an individual REIT. I believe there was some decent data to back it up.

I am not a REIT investor generally so I just brought this up for a possible discussion.

Not to detract from this excellent place or the "new" Fool, but the REIT community on Seeking Alpha (especially Brad Thomas) is pretty robust and plenty of tracking information.
