“Put Up or Shut Up”
Bernie Sanders introduces legislation to cap credit card interest rates at 10%
It was a campaign promise made by Donald Trump.
Democrats are deploying a bold new strategy to hold Donald Trump accountable for his long history of empty promises and blatant lies. By crafting legislation that mirrors Trump’s campaign commitments—such as capping credit card interest rates, supporting unions, and prioritizing American workers—they’re forcing the former president to either back his own words or expose himself as the fraud he is.

Hopefully Trump either lied, or fails on the 10% thing.
Woke Corporations and Woke Banks, sure love their 29% stuff.
BUT, your culture has bred so many people who over borrow OR buy carelessly....and yeah, let them pay.

we know this will absolutely have zero impact.
trump will say he had a much better plan, just like with healthcare, and dozens of other topics.
like all things with no personal benefit to the extended trump mafia, it will end up ignored.
much has been debated about what, if any issue, could make trump accountable in a manner with serious repercussions.
it was floated this would be a return of inflation, which is objectively visible, and partially tanked the Dems broad losses.
i call utter nonsense on this, as MAGA is told how they feel by rightwing media regardless of reality. they are so emotionally tied up with trump's personal journey, the degradation of their own QoL is secondary to whatever scapegoat trump proposes.
(the nature of inflation is that it will certainly show up in an irregular manner as the purchasing price of the dollar continues dropping, even w/out deterministic drivers like tariffs. it is unlikely to be eggs again, but where ever it shows up, rightwing media will assure it has nothing to do with trump.)

Agreed.
Not merely because Trump will just say that his plan is better, but mostly because none of these proposals will ever see the light of day. The Democrats don't control either chamber. They can draft and introduce bills from morning 'til night, but they'll never get a vote - not in committee, and certainly not on the floor. They won't even get a hearing. These bills are pretty impotent, even as political theater.
