Students will vote Tuesday on a nonbinding referendum that considers opening admission to all nonbinary and transgender applicants. Opponents say the school's mission is to educate women."

I hope the alt-right attitude is defeated, and Trans People who identify as women are admitted.

These antiquated gender rules need to stop.

I hope the alt-right attitude is defeated, and Trans People who identify as women are admitted.

Trans people who identify as women are already admitted. Have been for years. Without any ill effect.

The referendum is on whether the school should also admit Trans People who identify as men. Which, as pointed out in the article, have been present on campus for some time as well, since people who identify as female at the time of their admittance but later transition to male are permitted to remain enrolled.

It doesn't seem likely. Per the article, the administration seems pretty resolute against making further changes to their admissions policy, regardless of whether students express support for the referendum.
