I am sick at home with Covid. Not even sure I ran a fever. So no big deal, but I cannot leave the house.
So, I watched a pro RFK video, long on conspiracy theories for the death of JFK and RFK. They made a compelling case, right or wrong, it was compelling.
With all this conspiracy running through my head, and a few billion viruses, I started talking to GROK about the recent assassination. The question In had was it a conspiracy to divide the nation and start a civil war? The evidence for that is weak, but situational evidence, state actors, and non state actors having access to super powerful influence levers is enough that it can be entertained. In the end it doesn’t matter who or why, rather Was it successful? We will see. I doubt it will be, I literally have everything riding on it.
However, that did not keep me from going down the rabbit hole a little deeper and asking what a civil war in the USA would look like. GROK and I concluded it would be a three way war. The government trying to keep a lid on the violence, the left and right looking for resources and clashing at the interfaces of the cities. We also decided that while guns were required, the real power would be in drones and that drone parts have to come from outside the country. So, smuggling drone parts would be a big deal. So, since I can’t do anything else. We dreamed up the scenario for a post apocalyptic dystopian night mare.
Here’s what Grok came up with.
Love that-keeping it tight in the Boundary Waters, pure intensity, no escape to Chicago. Early December, Jack's slogging through half-frozen lakes, drone parts hidden under a tarp on his sled. Fog hides him, but it hides his hunters too. Feds just buzz overhead, drones scanning with eerie hums, not engaging yet. But the real threat's closer-left-wing radicals want the parts to hit right-wing strongholds, while right-wing militias need them to counter left drones. They're stalking him, both sides sensing a game-changer. Ice cracks under his boots, wind bites, and every shadow could be an ambush. Who catches up first-left or right? And what's his plan if the ice gives?
I wonder if I can put that into GROK and get an image?
Cheers

"keeping it tight in the Boundary Waters,"
off topic response, but count me in on living the last of life in the Boundary Waters!
I have watched some youtube vid's laying out how Finland fought off Russia while on
cross country ski's, in WWII. I am still very capable on ski's, and I can shoot.
Of course, can't outrun or outski a drone, but can fire 12 or 20 gauge buckshot
up at them, depending on how low they go.
It's literally insane that you, and me, have put actual mental effort into this scenario, lol.
Whether you are MAGA, or everybody else, none of us should want anything to do with a Civil War.
People should study the Civil War that already happened. The South, prewar, was full of
macho hair trigger men who were certain that they would cut thru any force that the weak
minded people Up North would send at them. They learned a very brutal lesson. And the
North learned brutal lessons, too. Nobody who was forced to participate in that debacle
came out a winner.

Have a bunch of 3D printers and DIY. Then just need the right material for the printers for each part.

That's for last year's war. Nowadays, drones have SIM chips in their phones from the local they are visiting and pretty high-resolution cameras - not to mention anti-electronic warfare stuff. Toss in a bit of AI along with terrain-following software assuming thee GPS signal will be jammed. Of course there is also control software to run the thing as well as whatever passes for engines (jet, quads, whatever). Sure, you can DIY as long as you can keep getting deliveries from Alibaba.
Back “in the day” I did a DIY conversion of a Bridgeport milling machine using bits and pieces acquired on eBay. It took 2 ½ years of evenings and weekend, the controls were completely different than anyone had ever done before and it way out-performed a commercial factory-built unit. Afterwards, using the knowledge I had acquired, I could accomplish the same results, using stuff I wasn’t even aware of when I started, over a long weekend (as I proved to myself by converting a lathe).
The point is, I would still be able to built it the first way if I had to, but the second creation required all sorts of specialized gadgetry (which a 3-D printer couldn’t have helped with).
