If Trump cared one whit or had even a smidgen of empathy for the Comperatore family, he would never have made the statement the following day that "God prevented the unthinkable from happening". The "unthinkable" did happen for the Comperatores.

Anyone who thinks Trump actually cares about them--even a supporter who attends rallies--can put two and two together here (if they are so inclined) and get all the information they need about how much Trump cares about them. And if that isn't enough, they can ask Mike Pence, who is still with us these days, but not because Trump did anything to try to stop people from hanging him.

He called and will attend the funeral because someone told him it would be a good move for him politically. Not because he cares.
