The TMF free discussion boards have a feature where you can see posts listed newest to oldest.
It'd be helpful to have something like that here.
Doesn't have to be that fancy.
Maybe a link at the top next to All boards that says Latest.
The link would take you to a list -- with the subject (with link to post), author, and date and time.
The TMF version scrolls on forever. Not needed. Maybe just the last few thousand posts or so.
Just kidding. Whatever makes sense and is easy to do.
Thanks,
Ears

<<The TMF free discussion boards have a feature where you can see posts listed newest to oldest.>>
Do you mean the present TMF discussion boards, or the earlier board platform that ended?
I am trying to maintain the culture of the earlier board system and part of why I expect it worked so well was that the boards were rather separated from each other, allowing different cultures to develop over each boards.
By mixing all the boards together, I think this can create a "dumbing down" effect, with less specialisation. Readers do still check across boards, but they have to do it more deliberately.
The function of what you want is partly there, however, using the "new posts" feature. If you click "Favourites and Replies" then a yellow star appears besides any board in which a post has appeared since you last visited the board.
In this way, you can quickly know if there is any new post over any of the boards. You only need to recommend a post, or write a post, or read 10 posts, for the board to appear in your Favourites.
