Oil prices fall on hopes of U.S.-Iran deal despite Tehran pushback
Tehran pushed back on Trump’s claim, with Iranian state-affiliated outlet Fars reporting on Telegram that Tehran had not approved any draft text for an initial memorandum of understanding with Washington.
In a subsequent post, Fars portrayed Trump’s announcement as a step back from his earlier military threats, saying he had failed to present any new elements beyond a proposal Iran had already submitted.https://www.cnbc.com/2026/06/12/oil-prices-wti-bre...Carry on with the kabuki dance.

Trump can’t keep making threats and then backing away. Either do it or don’t; he’s losing credibility with the constant We Have A Deal.

Only among those with whom he somehow had managed to still have credibility. He lost it long, long ago with many of us--over and over and over, as has been pointed out a gazillion times just on this board.

I agree. He looks like a bellowing buffoon. Of course, if I am right, the objective is to keep the Strait closed, that means he needs to maintain Iran as a threat. So, no deal, no declaring victory and walking away, no bombing Iran into the stone age. Just continued stalemate. Of course, he can't admit it. So, carry on with the kabuki dance. And, knowing what he is going to say, from day to day, and knowing the sheep in the financial markets react to his every utterance, he can make himself a fortune, pushing the market up and down.

Yeah, this board’s view of things - shouting out opinions based on iHaTeOrANgeMaN - doesn’t cut any ice. Cuts a lot of cheese, though.

No. It's based on what he has said and done. Yes, I hate Trump. I don't hate many people. I don't hate most of his supporters. I know some who I consider very good people. But I hate Trump. He is a greedy ignoramus who cares only for himself, and is needlessly f*king up the country and the world for the rest of us. He has earned every bit of my hatred. You don't need to look any further than his hate-filled Truth Social posts every day.
If you truly want to MAGA, you need to start with pulling people together. Our country is way too divided. But that is not what Trump is about. He has firmly led the way into division.

Hmm. Wonder why that is.
Might have a little bit to do with the hate thrown by the left on an hourly basis.

You mean like these Trump gems (just a few small examples):
Trump utilizes belittling nicknames to brand his adversaries. Prominent examples include calling political figures "Crooked Hillary" (Clinton), "Lyin' Ted" (Cruz), "Little Marco" (Rubio), and "Birdbrain" (Nikki Haley), or
Journalists face verbal attacks on their character and intelligence. Common epithets directed at reporters and news outlets include "Corrupt," "Stupid," and "Fake News", or
Civil rights organizations and researchers have heavily documented Trump's attacks on marginalized communities. He has repeatedly utilized the phrase "low IQ" to degrade Black public figures, and has disparaged immigrants with terms like "poisoning the blood of America" and describing countries and regions as "shithole countries", or
In speeches, Trump has extended his insults to the United States itself, referring to the country as a "garbage can" and characterizing it as a "mook throwing dice against the wall in a back alley". He has also branded domestic political critics as the "enemy from within",or
Trump's insults targeting women in public life frequently focus on their appearance or sanity, relying on terms like "crazy," "horseface," and "nasty".
Obviously, self-awareness isn’t your long suit.

Americas credibility has deteriorated to the point where Trump announces, "we're about to make a deal with Iran" for the 39th time
and the universal reaction is "lets' wait to see what Iran says."
The U.S. is the laughing stock of the world.
Thanks MAGA!

We could go round and round about "who started it", but it doesn't even matter at this point.
When you're the person on top, to be a good leader you need to rise above the fray and be better than the mud-slingers. You gotta show why you belong in the Leader's chair. You gotta be better than the other guys. No whining allowed. You have to be able to take some heat and not simply fling it back and call your critics juvenile names. That's how you be a good leader. We could be so much better as a country with some semblance of togetherness, as we've had for most of my 65-year life span.
That's not what we get with Trump. He doesn't even try. He doesn't "get it". With Trump, we get a 12-year-old bully. I'd like to think we're better than that as a country, but if we're not...well, I guess we're getting what we deserve. We elected him, so what he does played well with the electorate.
Mud-slinging makes for good reality TV or podcasts (apparently). But not good political leadership as Leader of the Free World.
Character matters.

No offense, but the left can't lecture the right about civility, respect, any of it. Especially after 20-something years of

Again, check that Truth Social feed... When you're just some schmuck on the internet, then sure, you can flame away, if you're so inclined. But when you're President of the United States, you gotta put on your Big Boy Pants and be better. Or...we get what we're getting now.

High road? What a crock! Y'all have consistently dug new depths to the low road that are so depraved and indifferent we've had to come up with new terms and studies to show what your depraved indifference does. You don't care and that's the way we read you.
Stochastic terrorism of the right is the use of mass media and political rhetoric by influential conservative or far-right figures to demonize marginalized groups or political opponents. This sustained vilification predictably incites random, ideologically motivated individuals to commit acts of violence.
The Mechanism of Stochastic Terrorism
Experts and scholars, such as those at the Drexel Law Review, break the phenomenon down into four key stages:
~Demonization: A prominent figure or media outlet with a mass audience targets a specific individual or group, framing them as existential threats.
~Dehumanization: Constant repetition strips the target of their personhood, casting them as inherently evil or destructive.
~Desensitization: The repeated use of violent language normalizes hostility, making targeted violence appear acceptable or even necessary.
~Denial: When an attack occurs, the instigators maintain plausible deniability, pointing to their lack of direct orders or explicit commands.
Real-World Impacts
Because the exact time, place, and perpetrator of the resulting violence are unpredictable, these acts are frequently labeled by law enforcement as "lone wolf" attacks, allowing the political inciters to avoid legal and moral accountability. Notable right-wing examples frequently cited by researchers and sociologists include:
~Anti-LGBTQ+ Rhetoric: Campaigns targeting drag queens, gender-affirming care, and queer spaces have correlated with targeted harassment, bomb threats, and violence, such as the murder of shopkeeper Lauri Carleton.
~Immigration & ConspiraciesMainstreamed narratives and conspiracy theories often trigger real-world consequences. For example, debunked narratives heavily disseminated by political figures targeting immigrants have resulted in massive spikes in bomb threats against schools and municipal facilities.
~Political Vilification: Decades of aggressive right-wing rhetoric demonizing progressive politicians, institutions (like the FBI), and activists have statistically correlated with spikes in harassment and political assassination attempts.
~The Legal & Societal Challenge
In the United States, addressing this issue is notoriously difficult due to First Amendment protections. Established incitement jurisprudence—stemming from cases like Brandenburg v. Ohio—requires speech to explicitly incite imminent lawless action to be illegal. Because stochastic terrorism operates via coded language and generalized demonization rather than explicit commands, the speakers generally remain legally protected.
Academic and legal reviews emphasize the need for systemic solutions, ranging from platform moderation on social media to removing tax-exempt statuses for organizations that actively promote hateful ideologies. For a deeper dive into the legal nuances, refer to the Drexel University Law Review Analysis or explore the Wikipedia Entry on Stochastic Terrorism.

And again, check what Hillary! said. Or Biden. Or any number of democrats for the last 20 years.
Then check what gets said on this board. As I've tried to warn Bill for a long time: all that hate had to go somewhere. Looks like it has.
Is this the country you want?

Listen Dope, it's been no secret that the right is far more violent and hate mongering than the left. Yes, this is the house that Dope and Co. built, not the center and left.
Both the political right and left produce polarizing and aggressive rhetoric, but data indicates the scale and impact differ significantly. Research shows that far-right groups and extremist movements are responsible for a significantly higher volume of hostile online language, violent threats, and lethal domestic incidents than the left.
The Right Wing
Extremist Violence: Studies from organizations like the PBS NewsHour and researchers at The Conversation show that right-wing extremist violence has been consistently more frequent and lethal than left-wing violence over the last several decades.
Online Hostility: A study published in PLOS ONE found that conservative social media users were significantly more likely than liberals to use language involving threat, intimidation, humiliation, and negative prejudice.
The Left Wing
Hostile Language: While the right outpaces the left in threats and physical violence, research highlights that left-leaning actors are more likely to utilize obscenities in their rhetoric.
In other words Dope - Shit! Goddamn! Look at how violent, hateful, and openly threatening those right wing Nazis are. :P
