That's MAGA in a nutshell (no pun intended).

Republicans of old had actual positions based on facts. I was one of them. Boiled down, we had different approaches to solve a given problem. And that was fine. We could argue the finer points of [whatever].

Today you have the "Antifa army" (which, first, doesn't exist, and, second, actually means "anti-fascist"), you have immigrants eating pets (also false), and more alarmingly, talk about "purity" and "contaminating blood" (and other "racial purity" BS).

I recognized 8 years ago that the convict was taking a very similar approach to the National Socialist Workers Party in 1930 Germany. He's only amplifying it today, instead of walking it back. Plus he's added "revenge" to his list of priorities.

Hitler was voted into power legitimately (not trying to Godwin this). Putin also was voted into power legitimately. Marcos was voted in. I'm sure there are more examples. Granted, I have the benefit of hindsight. But it is truly amazing to me how people can be so blind as to have elected them in the first place.

And now we have the convict, and he's got a credible chance for victory.
