An audience that places blind faith in books about spirits and ghosts is a prime audience for psychological priming.
"Psychological priming"
It’s important to understand what Trump is really doing here. For this, we need to look at his rhetoric more generally. Over the past nine years, Trump has used the language of political violence in his speeches and social media posts. This is known as “psychological priming.”
...When you give a long rambling speech in which you make violent threats and allusions constantly, salute domestic terrorists, and demonize foreigners, you don’t then get to say “bloodbath” and hide behind “but the context was cars!”
"stand back and stand by"
J6 rally... "It'll be wild"
“I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed: I am your retribution.”
“You need to fight like hell, or you’re not gonna have a country anymore”
"If this election isn’t won, I’m not sure that you’ll ever have another election in this country."
“there will be mayhem in the streets if I’m not elected”
“Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it."
Regardless of the context (Chinese cars made in Mexico) Trump continues to manipulate his party so that they are comfortable with violent rhetoric, accept dehumanization of others, and violent solutions. Bloodbath is now part of the Trump party vocabulary. Watch it increase in usage.

"Regardless of the context (Chinese cars made in Mexico)"
I watched a clip of Trump saying he was going to slap 100% tariff on cars built in Mexico. A listener really has to suspend disbelief to think that will come true. Don't have the time to look up the percentage of car parts made in Mexico ( for all car manufacturers ), but it is pretty darn high. And if the domestic auto manufacturers see that their competition has a 100% tariff slapped on their vehicles, we can be sure that a hefty price increase will be coming on the "American made" vehicles.
It really is a cult for a lot of his followers ( not all of them ). Trump lies constantly, and it just does not matter to them.

It really is a cult for a lot of his followers ( not all of them ). Trump lies constantly, and it just does not matter to them. It's fascinating that it does not matter to them. Sociologists will be batting this around forever, comparing it to other large scale manias.
MAGAs are resolved that it's good to be mean, cruel, lie, and disrupt all social norms while at the same time claiming piety and righteousness.
And now that that has happened, dehumanizing and violence, bloodbath, is an acceptable part of their vocabulary... said laughingly. The fringe of the cult will take it literally, rationalizing that, like a rape victim, "the libs/socialists/trans/communist/atheists/animals brought it on themselves. How? By depriving good guntoting christians of their God given rights to be good guntoting christians who are just trying to save America.

Read in the news today that among all Trump 'bloodbath apologists,' one of Trumps favorite Truth Social posters said the bloodbath speech was "hilarious."
"Why does Trump himself seem to gravitate toward violence and destruction?
Destructiveness is a core characteristic of mental pathology, whether directed toward the self or others. .....those with mental illness are, as a group, no more dangerous than those without mental illness. When mental pathology is accompanied by criminal-mindedness, however, the combination can make individuals far more dangerous than either alone.
In my textbook on violence, I emphasize the symbolic nature of violence and how it is a life impulse gone awry. Briefly, if one cannot have love, one resorts to respect. And when respect is unavailable, one resorts to fear. Trump is now living through an intolerable loss of respect: rejection by a nation in his election defeat. Violence helps compensate for feelings of powerlessness, inadequacy and lack of real productivity."

Sano,
Would like to see this post on the 'Policy' board.
Would it be OK, if I copy it there and give you credit?

I'd like to see it added to the discussion on the 'policy' board.

If the subject cites US politics specifically (such as Trump mentioned even in passing, or Democtatic Party, or there is even a mild insinuation, and so on) then the post should be avoided here and should be placed on the US Policy board.
Other political subjects (history not related to the contempotaty scene, political philosophy, international, etc) don’t relate to the US Policy board so they are okay here also.
If there are such US politics posts here, they should he left in peace. This takes a bit of mental discipline but it is possible.
The reason for dividing the US politics to a separate board is not related to the quality of the post but rather because contemporary US politics proved to be luring to receive amplified political replies (if a post was a only 10% political, the reply is 80% political for example) which behinds a positive feedback loop in which non-political posts simply *vanish*, and some readers leave.
As the readership interest in the recent imaginative posts on this board show, I believe there is a real appetite (that may also build up) for non-political, philosophically leaning posts on this board.
Call it general friendly, stimulating and/or entertaining meeting-hall discussions (or even games*) in the absence of non-religious church substitues.

* There are infinitely many, and you can invent a new game. This one looks fun - 'Continue the Story Game'. Each player comes up with the next line of a continuing story. Each line can only be a certain number of words in length, such as 10 words (subject: “Continue the story - max 10 words”).
