I know Robbie has worked on the gtr backtester but have not kept up with current status.
Does anyone use it for current picks any longer? Only for testing? Not all previous screens work
but he clearly has updated some things.

Yes, I use it for both current picks and backtesting, and it's working for me. To get current picks for SI Pro screens, you have to be a subscriber and enter the hash code of the latest month-end data update file at https://www.aaii.com/stock-investor-pro/archives.

If you run list:*.s in the command line of GTR1 it shows that SIPro data has not been updated this year. I don't think you can get current picks for *.s fields.

I ran the Up_5% screen using GTR1 Helper, and it said:

Results
The following lists all stocks eligible at step17, sorted in descending order by field8, as of 20240111:

So gtr1 is certainly claiming that the picks are current.

However, it's reporting the top 5 picks as GCT, X, BIN, VST and IBCP. None of these match any of the picks in lohill's latest rankings at https://www.shrewdm.com/MB?pid=794692492

It's very possible that the gtr1 picks are stale, despite the date shown being current, which would be disappointing.

Following up on this, the list:*.s command is showing that the SI Pro screen picks in gtr1 are using data last updated on December 29, 2023 (which was the last trading day of 2023 - about 2 weeks ago).

I'm having issues w/ "Run Screener" on GTR1.
The hash code for the 2023-12-29 SIP data worked for me last week or so, but is not working this evening.
It starts 716BB...

Am I doing something wrong?

Good news. SI Pro screen picks in gtr1 are now using the latest weekly data file, the one dated Jan 12, 2024. So it's completely up to date for screen picks.

I am glad to hear GTR1 is working for some. I am grateful to Robbie for the years I was able to use GTR1 to manage the limited choices in my 401K by creating a small universe with Yahoo tickers. I was happy with the performance of my version of Ride the Wave. The yahoo ticker function has yet to work again. I will have a 401K for only 5-6 years more, and am old enough to roll it into my IRA annually, so I feel less "needy" than before. I still hold out hope however...
