Putin wants Trump, bigly.
Is Putin trying to influence our elections?
He is according to the U.S. government, which warns that Russia is trying to influence the election so that Trump wins (which is what multiple investigations concluded happened in 2016, too), like by cozying up to right-wing influencers.
Putin and Russian officials don’t appear to be using hacking into campaigns or voting machines. (The government has accused Iran of that.) U.S. officials warn that Russia’s attempts to influence the election are getting more sophisticated and harder to detect. The Justice Department indicted two Russian journalists here in America for illegally funneling funds to promote its agenda on social media. The government says Russia was effectively paying big name right-wing American influencers to disseminate Russian propaganda on a YouTube channel.
Trump is putty in Putin's hands.
So many reasons to NOT vote for Trump.

Putin is endorsing Harris. He said he was previously supporting Biden and will follow Biden's endorsement. He also said Harris has "such an expressive and infectious laugh" that could mean she is doing well.

I know that Trump is stupid enough to believe Putin.
I never thought you were.

I know most MAGA's barely have a measurable IQ, like my toothless neighbors living in an old house trailer next door, but some of us can recognize sarcasm by a witty dictator, and some of us also appreciate good snarky humor even from a dictator.

AlphaWolf: I never thought you were.
Like Jeff Timmer wrote this morning: "Think about the absurdity of this situation. Donald F*cking Trump, vulgarian vainglorious oaf. The most extraordinary failure in history has co-opted 74 million of the most malignant and/or broken-brained cretins in the U.S."
I never used to think republicans were malignant and/or broken-brained cretins; we simply disagreed on policy or social platforms. But now, after eight years of watching Trump's hateful lying, his grift, and his efforts to destroy democracy, to support Trump they really have to be malignant and/or broken-brained cretins. Despite what albaby1 has said in searching for reason inside the insanity, sorry, it just ain't there.
By way of example, a reporter asked a Trump rallygoer waiting in line on September 11 about the attacks, what he remembered. He said it was president Obama's fault we were attacked because Obama was on vacation and not in the Oval Office to prevent or react to the attacks.

The lying right wing media is largely to blame. They fed the low info righties what they wanted, a feedback loop that is destroying our country. But, hey, it has made a TON of money for the lying scoundrels at FOX, et al.

as a scientist, we try to tamp down intuition.
it's satisfying to breakdown all the common psychological biases of MAGA, and assign them various groups within the GOP.
after all, we are all vulnerable to bias in many different aspects of life, and so we cultivate a bit of empathy.
indeed, there is bizarre fascination with the incredibly small group of conservatives that recently renounced trump, meaning they are so incompetent they failed to see who he is for decades, even when working for him. rest assured, they will not sway large numbers.
leaving room that intuition can sometimes be right, the entire GOP are incredibly flawed people that may not be salvaged even in a post-trump world. this is what they have wrought; through tea parties, birch societies, and new world orders. trump may be just a unique focal point for their flawed thinking.
