Thanks to America's Superior Capitalist system, many of these properties will be repurposed. We aren't losers like in France or Germany.

BUT hopefully a few stay closed.

At that point a small hit to the banks would be great - cumulatively that increases borrowing costs.

Best case: Drugs and crime.

But most of them will be ok. The properties are usually net-leased out with corporate guarantees. I'd think Walgreens AND the property owner both benefit from new tenants, even one that can afford less rent. I gave up on pursuing Walgreens-RightAid-CVS many years ago because my litmus test was "if Bezos can physically deliver it, I'm not depending on rent".

7-11's that have a long operating history in secondary markets: Lovely. Even with the recent Kamala Harris 7-11 store closure announcement, these puppies are good. Many times a nice square building, not single use. Lower price points too.
