as a few drop off this board , maybe to start serious planning for their own more resilient future, we are also losing people that expended tremendous effort railing against grift of all flavors and scales.

Good word. Had to look that one up. I guess more technically correct that "Idiocracy", though that latter term is in common usage now due to the movie.

Worst case, we can always relocate to the Philippines. 1poorlady could get a dual-citizenship pretty easily, and we'd be considered rich there. We could afford a maid, and a decent-sized house. I don't think she imagined seriously considering that after 27 years here, but she may now.
