This election should not be misleadingly portrayed as a no-holds-barred struggle between democracy or authoritarianism.

In other words: everyone knows Trump will not be a dictator (sane people, anyway). Stop saying he will be one.

Dope might be right. Trump is narcissist and deeply corrupt. He's also incompetent. Everything is transactional for him. He's a grifter at heart. So maybe it won't be full on fascism but Trump will bring in a deeply corrupt bunch of sycophants to aid him in his greedy grifting.

It seems more likely Trump would try to establish something like Putin's corrupt oligarchy. He's got the support of much of the billionaire class and the cynical right wing politicians, plus an enabling court system. And a right wing mediasphere that keeps the MAGA crowd utterly bamboozled and voting against their interests.

Kleptocracy + kakistocracy = Trumpworld.
