Hegseth - let alone Trump - isn't fit to carry Mark Milley's boots. How can anyone defend these reprehensible, disgraceful, puerile, petty, vindictive pieces of shite?

Pentagon strips Gen Mark Milley of US security detail and clearance

The Pentagon has revoked the security detail and clearance for retired general Mark Milley, a former top US military commander who has been critical of President Donald Trump.

Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth directed the move as one of his first acts in office, asking officials to investigate Gen Milley's "conduct" and review his military grade.

Gen Milley previously served as chairman of the joint chiefs of staff during Trump's first term, but later criticised his former boss, and was quoted calling him a "fascist".

Since returning to office, Trump has revoked security protections for a handful of former officials with whom he has clashed, including former top health official Anthony Fauci.

putin must be fuming that the trumpet cant get the basics right :

- russia needs ACTIVE american military command diminished, not those retired! putin is running out of time in a spectacular manner* that is getting near zero media airtime (presumably because it would weaken trump's arting a deal on their behalf)

- the idea was that european NATO spends more on defense to the detriment of other civil programs, not actually use those resources against russia!
this is absolutely happening and will continue, as there is no way free europe will risk further encroachment based on putin or trump's pledges. europe NATO will even run bigger deficits as needed; they are smart enough to realize brave people are dying partly on their behalf for as long as it takes.

* here is part of the story on how russia's entire above water navy has become a non-entity, in a manner resembling a trump-run business
