I don't recall that Israel has ever acknowledged that they have nukes. But this was a tacit statement that they do. Not that many people didn't think so anyway. Didn't they do a test detonation somewhere in the Indian Ocean where no one could see it, so as to keep it secret? I seem to recall that from about 40 years ago. They denied it, but both the Soviets and the US detected it.
