I think there's lots of room to be cynical, here. But some religious faiths have pretty consistently been opposed to abortion, like the Catholic Church since about the 1st Century:
And since I Mentioned "the sperm enters the egg became a tenet for non Catholics", I thought you would pick up that I knew that. I read a fellow who made anti abortion videos in the 50s (I think), and he said it didn't catch on till later after they found it would fill the coffers. He was no longer making videos, and had wandered away from religion. And with the money came the politics. Which cam first, the money or the politics? To me: money. :) It picked up around then, but I have to acknowledge there was some basis before - or I get called out on it. :) I have no problem with them thinking that, I DO have a problem with them thinking they can force it down our throats, and then their historical hypocrisy becomes a good arrow in the quiver, though they just dismiss it. And Jesus said nothing about it, even though it was going on around him. There was a now extinct plant used for abortions back then, but it was also good for other ailments.
I think there's little honesty in shoving it down our throats, though I'm sure you can make an eloquent case for it. They will make laws to prosecute you if you get the abortion out of state. They want to prevent you from having birth control. I know you know all of this. And part of them is a death cult, trying to get the wall rebuilt in Jerusalem, to bring on end times and the rapture. They've pegged Trump as King Cyrus. When you combine that with racism, and the replacement dogma, it's a witches brew. So here we are.
