Prior to his work with the Lincoln Group, Weaver was executive director of the Republican Party of Texas (in which capacity he worked with Rick Perry) and worked in George H. W. Bush's campaigns for president in 1988 and in 1992.

When they learned of his behavior, the Lincoln Project condemned Weaver, calling him “a predator, a liar and an abuser,” and he left the organization in the summer of 2020.

So, 1.) the Lincoln Group didn't know of Weaver's behavior; 2.) when they became aware of his behavior, condemned it; 3.) Weaver left the organization in 2020 and has not been involved with it since.
