https://www.dea.gov/resources/facts-about-fentanyl, 1 kilo of fentanyl has the potential to kill 500,000 people. That means 3,400 kilos can kill 1,700 million people. That's 5 times the total population of the U.S.
Of course, it's idiotic to suppose that just because a given amount of fentanyl COULD kill X number of people, doesn't mean that all those people were actually saved by removing that fentanyl!

As is often the case, the key information that is missing is context.
In 2024 they seized 380 million lethal doses of fentanyl, so while the amount seized in the first 100 days is up, it is only up slightly.
This is a common theme with the administration. Another example is fraud, where they tout what they have done, but it is just inline with historical norms. Given that for the most part they are using the same resources it is not surprising they are getting about the same results.
They keep marketing how good the results are, when they are just business as usual.
