https://www.outkick.com/culture/pete-hegseth-army-...The Army missed its recruiting goal by 25% in 2022 and 2023. That's a pretty serious problem seeing as how military planners are worried about direct conflict with China. Recruiting started improving in late 2024, and it appears it's now speeding towards success. So how about now?
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth took to X Tuesday to announce that the Army had its best recruiting in 12 years in December 2024, and the good news doesn't stop there.
Army recruiting hit its highest number in 15 years in the month of January 2025.Winning. Never gets old.

We now live in a world where information from the government is more likely to be false than true.
How do we know?
Because they are erasing or altering the historical record as fast as they can. Stastistical studies that don't agree with their political program? Poof! And like Soviet Russia... those who dare try to publish anything with which the Politburo disagrees will be fired and hounded by Roger Stone's band of flying militia and keyboard monkeys.
Wait till we get to big economic indicators that the government reports. I guarantee it will be all good. Better than anything we've ever seen before!

I think the dem strategy is to establish a mindset that any statistics coming out the Trump Admin are unreliable, and should not be trusted. I suspect they think that casting doubt on statistics now will provide a foundation later to dispute anything good from the Trump Admin.
I think the voters are already skeptical of any statistics coming from government these days and I truly hope that Trust In Government (but verify) will be restored some day.
Like last time, voters will use their own eyes and their day to day living experience to tell them what's up. Which in turn informs their vote, such as knowing the border ain't secure despite what Mayorcas preached to us for three and half years; or knowing crime is up in my neighborhood and I am afraid to walk my kid to the bus stop or to go out at night, while at the same time, being lectured to about how crime is actually down and here are some statistics that show it.
Ignore you own eyes didn't work in 2024 and I have confidence the 2026 voters will again make their choice based on there own lived experience with little regard for third parties telling them what they "should" think.

Never mind that Obama and Biden gamed the numbers for years and these same board libs would wink and say, "See? Krugman nailed it!"
It didn't work then, won't work now. Some folks never get tired of #losing, and we should stand back and let them experience more of it.

I am always amazed how you don't see the full story.
He's got lots of company. The right has seemingly settled in comfortably with living in a false reality.

Lol.
The Army “hit” their goals by putting more kids into their Delayed Entry program. In other words they’re counting kids who aren’t old enough yet:
https://www.army.mil/article/280028/army_exceeds_f... The Army will achieve at least 55,300 total accessions for FY24 and will place approximately 11,000 Soldiers in the Delayed Entry Program for FY25. By comparison, the Army achieved 50,181 accessions in FY23 and added 4,661 in the Delayed Entry Program. In other words they’re using an accounting trick to “pre-book” some “sales”.
And oh, yeah - they hit their lowered target:
https://www.defenseone.com/policy/2024/09/increase... Last year—fiscal 2023—the service recruited 50,181 soldiers against a “stretch goal” of 65,000, as Army Secretary Christine Wormuth put it, with 4,611 signing up for deferred entry. At the time, the Army presented the Delayed Entry Program numbers as part of its overall recruiting contracts, leading to reporting that the Army had hit 55,000 contracts.
In 2022, the Army recruited 44,901 new members, well short of its goal of 60,000. Meanwhile, keep making it personal. It does so much for your arguments…as in, makes them weak.
Toodles!
