...undo the poorly thought out and badly executed tariff policies and trade deals that made food costs soar.

Sorry, that inflation horse has left the barn but, sure, why not introduce yet more uncertainty into the markets.

Interesting point brought up on the news tonight: If Trump is using tariffs to "bring others to the table" to negotiate an "arty" deal, that is beneficial to the US, when the counter parties see him cave on tariffs, they may start to say "why give up anything in negotiations, instead of waiting for him to cave on more tariffs?"

They may not make concessions. Some have, some haven't. It depends on who the tariffs are personally affecting on the other side and how powerful they are. China not buying soybeans probably affected a whole lot of people in China who needed soybeans, but not anyone high up enough in the communist party hierarchy.

Trump as a 'savvy businessman' is pure myth as evidenced by his entire life of failing upward and cheating all the way.

A demented old fool doesn't make 'arty' deals.
