There were Republicans who didn't want Trailer Boebert. But she like others know that the opposition will split their vote amongst multiple candidates and she'll win. That would mean Americans stop pretending to "vote on the issues", see the big picture and unite around one non Lauren Republican.
Conversely - take an issue like guns - something the NRA has made unwindable.
IF Dems are willing to say "WE'll support the gun control Republican in the primary AND general" -- well - some Repubs would tell the NRA to pound sand.
