Most of MAGA still says: "He's the best President this country has ever had!" I have heard that quote or something very similar far too often. It's insane.

For them, he is. Domestically, at least for right now. He's accomplished a ton of what the more partisan base wanted him to do. And by riding roughshod over all the institutional and unwritten barriers that have traditionally kept Presidents from being able to advance their agendas, he's managed to do more of what they want than any more "conventional" President would.

However, from the view of history (should such still exist in the future), Trump will have to rate as one of, if not THE, worst POTUS ever.

nothing is easier to convince than a cohort where feelings matter more than facts, and identity supersedes reality.

let's take trump's most popular issues :

currently , it seems to be immigration.
what he promised : to deport illegal immigrants that are violent criminals.
what we got : mass deportation of anyone of suspicious color\accent at unlimited expense, including citizens with no due process, many with no criminal history.
(hint : the latter was what the gop actually wanted, with taxpayer funded commercials and propaganda reminders of their 'success')

last year, trump's most popular issue among the gop was affordability.
there is almost nothing one can say on this topic except overwhelming denial of their daily experience.
the accelerated concentration of consumption at the top is certainly not by the bulk of gop voters.
