I was mortified to find this email in my In box this morning. I thought it must be spam at first--and in reality, it did go into my Junk folder.
Since when does a government agency become a propaganda arm for the Administration in our good old USA? Since when does the Commissioner of Social Security speak for "The Social Security Administration" on a highly divisive political issue that they have no business meddling in? Bisignano has been in the job all of six weeks, and when he was first offered the job he had no idea what it was and admitted to having to Google it to see what the job is. Gee, I wonder why the Trump Administration wanted to hire someone with such a lack of knowledge of the position?
While there is a short term benefit to some current Social Security recipients (read: the wealthier ones) in the form of a tax cut, since most taxes on Social Security go back into funding Social Security for the future, it comes at the expense of Social Security being solvent for less time in the future.

as am still a few years out on getting back a dime from my SS contributions, this 'highly critical' email was the first i had ever received outside of 'check your estimates' yearly reminder.

The bad news is that this $6000 per person deduction for people over 65 will shorten the life expectancy of the Social Security trust fund.
The good news is that the deduction phases out for individuals with an AGI above 175000 and couples above 250000, so the top 1% are excluded.

We all know the answer: since Donald Trump's explicitly corrupt second term began. The whole administration is nothing but incompetent ass kissers whose only real qualification is doing Trump's bidding NO MATTER WHAT. Trump desperately needs the kind of good people he had in his first administration, though by the end he had gotten rid of most of them. Now he pursues his worst impulses with no real push back from the servile Republican Congress and nothing but enabling from the Supreme Court.
We can all easily imagine the howls/screams/threats of revolt and secession if Biden had done the shit that Trump is doing.
