Funny, you seem to have nothing to say about the sanctions Trump waived to let Iran sell its oil. - CO

Yeah, that was one of those tough calls a President often has to make. Good and Bad mixed up in the same decision. Trump certainly did not want to help Iran but he also had to factor in the availability of oil to countries friendly to the US (Japan, South Korea, India, Italy, Taiwan) who depended on buying oil from Iran. If the US had the export capacity to take up the slack, I am sure that would have been Trumps first choice. But the reality was he didn't want to shock the international oil market into still higher prices, so he relaxed the sanctions but only for six months as I recall.
All in all, I would have preferred he kept max pressure on Iran and let the chips fall where they may.
