I watched the utube clips of the commencement speech at West Point.

I wonder how many cadets knew that Trump weaseled out of serving in Vietnam by having

Unfortunately, what Walz says is true. Without due process -which the Felon says we can't do**-, there is no protection for any of us. They could just as easily sweep you or me up, and ship us to El Salvador. We would have no recourse because there is no due process, no day in court, no lawyers.
1poorlady lived through that with Ferdinand Marcos. People just "disappeared", never to be heard from again. Argentina had a similar problem (tens of thousands just "disappeared") in the 80s.
It's a sign you live in a totalitarian state. Which you may think is OK, so long as they don't come for you. But you can't be assured of that if there's no due process.

It may be poor optics, but when Dems get control again they need to get those people back. The right-wing will have a conniption, claiming "they're bringing rapists and murderers back", but it needs to be done so that they can have proper adjudication. And if the El Salvador president says he won't do it, we'll have to park an aircraft carrier battle group off his shore and say "are you sure?".
The innocent must go free.
I am curious how much we can hold to account the individuals who did this. For at least the last half of the 20th century, the excuse "I was just following orders" often wasn't good enough. Yes, I'm talking about the individual ICE agents (and others) who knew they were violating rights, and did it anyway. All the way up to Marco Rubio, since the Roberts Court says we can't hold the Felon accountable for anything ever.

Violating the law in order to punish someone for breaking the same law may be satisfying, but hardly a solution if you are trying to strengthen the “rule of law”.
This seems to be the conundrum.
Reminds me of Trump’s floated idea of “Let’s let the cops run free for 24 hours- beating and killing the criminals. And after that, we can rein them in.
History suggests that the natural progression of such programs never seems to work out that way.

That is the point. It is NOT violating the law--at least according to Spankee. No habeas corpus per him, so he can't claim it (unless he is the "true coward" he really is). However, he does NOT get the opportunity to claim anything--per him. He is OUT.
