WASHINGTON (AP) ' The Biden administration has cleared the way for the release of five American citizens detained in Iran by issuing a blanket waiver for international banks to transfer $6 billion in frozen Iranian money from South Korea to Qatar without fear of U.S. sanctions. In addition, as part of the deal, the administration has agreed to release five Iranian citizens held in the United States. This comes out on 9/11 of all days. Sure. Why not? We handed Afghanistan back to the Taliban on 9/11. Why not bow to more terrorist demands while we're at it?
This guy.
And note that we're also trading 5 Iranians that are being held. Since it's not our policy to randomly kidnap Iranians on the street, it's probably safe to say that these aren't good guys that we're sending back over.
Why do the democrats have such a soft spot for the Mullahs? Do they hate Israel that much?

OK, we get it that Trump is the incarnation of pure evil. Do you allow for any other thoughts to enter your bubble?
For example, will the Iranians use the $6B that Biden facilitated their access to for humanitarian purposes? Or perhaps will they fund various acts of terrorism that will result in thousands of innocent deaths? Or perhaps it doesn't matter because Trump.

I don't think you do.

Yes

Non sequitur.
Releasing Iranian funds gets Americans back.
Iran's gonna Iran no matter what.

Who does Dark Brandon think he is? The GOPs greatest hero, Ronald Reagan? (Iran-Contra, Ollie North?)
You GOPers loved when Reagan brought the hostages home, what a hero! (By illegally trading them for weapons.)
Double standard much?
And BTW Trump added $8 trillion to the debt in just 4 years. And lost millions of American jobs.
Disgraceful!
"The amount he's added to the national debt is indecent." ~Mike Pompeo
Also Trump IS a rapist.

I LOVE that you people are paying Iran.
And I will be highly disappointed if Iran spends the money on anything OTHER than it's dealings with you people, and Israel.
PS: Hey, Europe - Iran *will* have nukes one day and they are closer to you. You deserve it.

Lest anyone forget, remember St. Ronnie was also responsible for DELAYING the release of the hostages in Tehran by conducting direct conversations with Iranian officials DURING the 1980 election, convincing them to hold them not only through the election to avoid an "October Surprise" but through to inauguration, purely to further humuliate Carter. The history of traitorous election skullduggery on the part of Republicans is long and nearly continuous back to at least 1968.

What are these continuous acts of "Treason" that you are claiming?

Actually, I agree that we shouldn't release funds. We shouldn't allow nations to use our people against us. Sets a bad precedent. Though Reagan allegedly had his own dealings with Iranian hostages, but I digress.
If Americans were in Iran, they were stupid (IMO). I wouldn't even change planes in Iran. The Iranian people may be lovely, but their government sucks. If Americans were in Iran, they took their chances. I may have a modicum of sympathy, but we shouldn't yield to extortion.

Also in the news is a story that a Russian -- Vadim Krasikov -- being held by the Germans for murdering an alleged Chechen rebel in broad daylight in a park within Germany in 2019 is closely allied with Putin (surprise) and Putin desperately wants him returned to Russia. How desperately? This guy is now a chit that Putin demands back from GERMANY as a condition for releasing some of the other Americans currently being held in Russia for various charges.
Essentially, Putin has shed ANY pretense of operating Russia like a remotely legitimate country. It has become a ICBM armed gang of street thugs specializing in kidnapping, murder-for-hire and general extortion of anyone within their grasp for the perceived personal gain of the man at the top.
Will the US ask Germany to participate in any deal?
If asked, will Germany agree?
I hope not, to both questions.

The history of traitorous election skullduggery on the part of Republicans is long and nearly continuous back to at least 1968.I remember discussing Nixon in the Army and telling my fellow 82d paratroopers I was grateful to him for getting us out of Vietnam. Little did I know he sabotaged LBJ's peace initiative with Vietnam:
"It wasn't until after 2007, when the Nixon Presidential Library finally opened Haldeman's notes to the public, that I stumbled upon a smoking gun in the course of conducting research for my biography of Nixon: four pages of notes his brush-cut aide had scrawled late on an October evening in 1968. '!Keep Anna Chennault working on SVN,' Haldeman wrote, as Nixon barked orders into the phone. They were out to 'monkey wrench' Johnson's election eve initiative, Nixon said. And it worked."
"The following account of the Chennault Affair is the most up-to-date and revealing exposure of Nixon's intrigue'the product of hours of archival research, open records requests and a little luck. Documenting this cynical maneuver is important for history's sake, but the fact that it took nearly 50 years for Nixon's secret to emerge also offers vital lessons for today."

Yup. And to belabor the point only slightly more...
Note that this Nixon example and the Reagan example are actions they took BEFORE becoming President, to distort the political climate in their favor to WIN the Presidency. Just like Trump winking at Russia to coordinate the release of damaging mis-information about Clinton to support his election.
