Huh.

You forgot that very recent never Trumper Mike Pence!
From
https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/15/mike-penc...Mike Pence said on Friday that he would not endorse Donald Trump for president in 2024, breaking with the man who tapped him as vice president only to make him the target of an angry mob for his refusal to help with efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
“It should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year,” Pence told Fox News.

I mentioned him in a separate thread but you're right: he deserves to be at the top of any list.
And here are another two:
Nat'l Security Advisor John Bolton
Nat'l Security Advisor H.R. McMaster
And (so far, anyway) Nikki Haley. She'll be interesting. Obviously, she'll want to run in 2028 but will an endorsement of Trump become a "Clinton voted for the Iraq War" albatross around 2028 candidates' necks?

I have to say it because it’s so true.
This.Does.Not.Matter.To.Them
The people who support him Do Not Care. He can tell them he will get “only the best people” and then fire them at a higher rate than any President in history because “he’s stupid” or whatever, and They Do Not Care.
He can lie, cheat, swindle and steal. He can push blue-collar businesses into bankruptcy, and the blue collars still vote for him. He can bankrupt casinos (casinos!) and they will still think he’s a great businessman.
It matters not whether someone endorses him or not. Testimony from people who spent time in the room with him and carried out his (so-called) policies will not change their minds. I fear he is right when he says he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th avenue and it wouldn’t make a difference. I am pretty sure that even if convicted in the many and several cases now pending - it won’t matter, because supporters will attribute it to “politics” or “a grudge” or whatever other excuse they can muster.
None of it, I fear, will make a difference in November. Depending on how the votes break for 3rd or 4th party candidates, we may be in for a rough patch ahead. Plan accordingly.

I know we're not supposed to call it a cult, but for many people that is exactly what it appears to be. He is their guru, their savior, the anointed one, the prophet. How any rational person could see him that way seems insane, but we see this kind of behavior over and over again in cults.
Then there are all the cynical opportunists who just hope to advance their personal ambitions, no matter the cost to society. And those who really believe that authoritarianism is the way to go. Ugh.
Sadly, it amounts to a pretty strong coalition. The coalition of the deluded, the fascist-yearning and the cynical. Throw in the white supremacists and similar scum and you have the MAGA horde.

If Trump wins in 2024, he will only allow his family to run in 2028 (Can you imagine how he will position Ivanka). Already has family at the RNC. So Haley's only opportunity is for Biden to win. Therefore, she should not endorse trump.

...why are you?
The "I'm a Republican but There's No Way I Am Endorsing Trump for President" List:
I don’t belong to any political party. I vote for whom I think is the better candidate List.
When Trump threw his hat in the ring the first time around, some here might remember I laughed at the thought of it. Trump would certainly be at the bottom of my list.
As it turned out Trump became the candidate at the bottom of my list.
I voted for Trump because no way in he11 would I vote for Hillary.
Hillary had already proven to be a poor choice. Trump made promises as a candidate I was interested in and gave him a chance with my vote. Trump kept those promises.
As it turned out Trump was a pretty good president despite all his character flaws until covid got in the way. You cannot deny it no matter how you want to spin and dance around it.
Again, as it turns out this time around it’s the same scenario....
No way in he11 will I vote for Biden.
Biden has proven himself to be the worst president in our history.
I know it, you know it, the World knows it.
Afghanstan, the border, inflation, just to name a few of Biden’s failures, plus the fact Biden is a senile old man and has proven over and over he is not mentally nor physically up to the job. Another Biden term will be disastrous for America and Americans.
The left, dems and the dead who have risen will vote Party, not the candidate and America be damn.

Her endorsement (or not) will not affect a single vote. Nobody is going to care if she does or does not.
They will care 4 years hence, when she is decried as “not a true believer” or whatever nonsense Fox (and similar) start pushing to discredit her. If she cares about truth and democracy (you know, like Liz Cheney) then she should not.
So I fully expect that she will, eventually, to preserve her options for the hard right a few years down the line, because she is as craven a political figure as any of them.

if haley endorses trump, many of her fans simply wont turn out. tiny numbers either way.
haley does share the flip-flop trait, and no one should be surprised if sudden enthusiasm gets her a trump job again, ala tim scott and most other GOPers.
she faces an interesting strategic decision, as not to be associated with a crushing 2024 GOP defeat that could differentiate her in the future.
it is more likely she gets blamed for her non-support rather than praised for her warnings against another loss.
am not a fan of effectively a 1-party system, but the GOP could be in tatters for a long time once there is no cult to rally around.
how soon fox and some posters here have forgotten their claims last summer that desantis was going to crush trump! none of his opponents could even win their own state.
my favorite 'analysis' from one of the usual suspects was how trump's +80% national GOP poll lead did not matter at the state primary level.
