Trump and Musk shut down the bi-partisan budget deal.

Looks like a government shut down.

Merry Christmas America!

Sounds like you're all for giving Congress a 40% pay raise.

Be my guest. Go sell that one to the public!

Jesus 'effin' Christmas on a communion cracker. There are precious few - if any - spines left in the GOP.

Also, for some reason, the stock market still tanked after another .25 point rate cut? Why? Inflation risk? Doesn't a rate cut encourage stock buying? Jerome Powell never inspires confidence when I hear him "explain" things.

Maybe it's time for Biden in "an official act as President" to have the Mint roll a few trillion dollar coins down to the treasury with the order to use them to fund the government in this "state of emergency."

Not even in office yet and Elon and Trump are already f---ing up the economy. Impressive.

The Dow has fallen for 10 consecutive trading days, marking its longest losing streak since 1974, as Mr. Market gets reminded daily that Trump is an incompetent criminal.

Good times!

Sounds like you're all for giving Congress a 40% pay raise.

According to Congressman Pat Ryan’s (D) website, who was not in favor of the pay raise, it was stated that the continuing resolution included a clause for a COLA of 3.8%, which amounted to $6,600.

Not sure where you got your 40% information, but I have a three-quarters of a billion dollars idea where.

But credit due where credit is deserved, you were right about one thing.

You can’t fix stupid.

"Maybe it's time for Biden in "an official act as President" to have the Mint roll a few trillion dollar coins down to the treasury with the order to use them to fund the government in this "state of emergency."

That is funny, it reminds of reading the story about how Trump's Dad went into one of his Atlantic City casinos ( before he BK'd it ) and bought about $3 Million worth of tokens. Never gambled with any of them.

The NJ Gaming Commision was investigating whether Trump was funded up to the levels the NJGC demanded. He wasn't. He lied about the assets he had backing the place, and the NJGC was hard on his tail digging into it. So Big Daddy Trump came in and basically gifted him $3 Million. Now the casino appeared to be funded to the levels set by NJGC.

But Big Daddy Trump has no affiliation with the casino whatsoever, according to all of the legal documents that Trump was required to file when he purchased it. Which made the $3 Million a gift. Which exceeds the amount that can be gifted tax free, by a country mile. Which means Trump should have paid tax on that $3 Million. And here's a shocker, he didn't, lol. So just another tax fraud scheme hatched by our incoming President.

So I'd luv to see Biden pull a Trump, lol.

- Dope

So Dope creates a strawman (that AlphaWolf is for giving congress a 40% pay raise) based off of a lie that the bill would raise congressional pay by 40%, then implies that others are stupid.....

Classic Dope.

Strawman, spreading false information from people taking advantage of his ignorance, insulting the intelligence of others, while not realizing that he is really describing himself.

Where (what page) in the CR bill does it say anything about the congressional pay raise? I searched and couldn't find it!

I am not going to read the whole thing, but various outlets report 3.8% pay raise. For some reason, Musk posted 40% on twitter which of course has been quoted in a few places making people look a bit foolish. I don't know if it was an honest mistake on Musks part, or an attempt to see if he can top Trump in the lie category.

Musk demands might lead to a government shutdown. Will Musk, the world's richest person, pay the troops? If the shutdown happens and Congress does nothing:

Military troops will not receive their end-of-month paychecks.
Reservists will not be paid.
Federal civilian employees who are required to work during a shutdown also will not be paid.
National parks and monuments would close.
Civil proceedings in Federal Court systems would pause.
IRS audits of tax returns would pause.
New Medicare applications might not be processed.

The government has the money, but can't spend it without Congress's approval. Government shutdowns do not save money, because all of the back wages end up getting paid when the government reopens.

Musk has close connections with China, and the budget deal restricted investments with China.

"The bill also includes provisions focused on countering China, including expanding on a Biden executive order that seeks to restrict investments into countries that pose a national security threat to the United States."

Now I understand Musk’s reason for getting into politics.

Just another oligarch looking out for his own interests, ordinary people be damned. They’re just pawns to be used and then tossed aside.

While this makes good political copy, we need to keep in mind who Musk really is.
He is a brilliant scientist and engineer. However, when people are involved he is completely clueless.
Treating the government as a "problem that needs to be solved" is going to get him nowhere.

Trump may be the best $250,000,000 Elon ever spent. What percent of $475 billion is that?

Conflicts of interest abound.

Elonald getting into cryptocurrency. Elonald's able to attack the government for the benefit of their own media businesses...

Makes Javanka's $2,000,000,000 billion gift from the Saudi Price Mohammed look like chump change.

...but Hunter Bidens 10 million dolllars issue mere chicken scratch!!!!
