The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

You do realize that there’s no wall around blue sanctuary cities, right? And that the effects of stupid liberal policies never stay in one spot, right?

The more I look at it the more I think maybe the effects of liberal policies do stay in one spot? (Unfortunately for our friends in the red states!)

Let's look at some additional data shall we?

Blue States have higher Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita.

Blue states are typically less dependent on federal government assistance. States with higher per capita GDP (often blue states) tend to be less reliant on federal funding.
I.E. Blue states contribute more in federal taxes than they receive back in federal spending, effectively subsidizing red states. (Liberals financially supporting MAGAs)

Blue states have lower rates of poverty compared to red states.

Blue states often invest more in infrastructure, leading to better roads and public transportation systems. Who remembers Trumps Infrastructure Week? Facepalm...

Many blue states have expanded Medicaid coverage (Obamacare) and implemented policies to increase healthcare access.

Murder rates have been consistently higher in red states compared to blue states since 2000.
In 2021 and 2022, murder rates in red states were 33% higher than in blue states.
Contributing factors: Higher gun ownership rates in red states, Higher poverty rates in red states, Lower educational attainment in red states

No wonder our MAGA friends are so angry, if I lived in a red state I'd be angry as well. #uneducated,poor,more-likely-to-be-shot,no-healthcare,poor-infrastructure,no-freedom-if-you're-a-woman,MAGA
