I just had to recall a plumber for a leak.

The phone was answered by a bot with 100% sounding human voice (female).
It took me through a few questions, I was not very clear but it picked up the meat of my problem and restated it back to me.

If it had not said that it was a bot, I might not have picked up that it was.

Now I wonder what it would have done if I had asked it where its physical location was. That's what I often ask the customer service person on a phone call.

AI is also going down the bad path, with scammers using AI to create false job listings and false job applications.

AI employment scams targeting both sides of market, April 17, 2025
One estimate is that by 2028, 1 in 4 job applicants will be fake.
AI has difficulty with hand-in-front-of-face image, and so that is used to identify bogus AI job applicants.

I'm waiting for there to be an apprentice AI Bot that can come out and wire an electrical panel for me.
