Morgan Stanley now projects 1.9% GDP growth for the first half of this year, nearly four times higher than the bank's previous forecast of 0.5%.
Morgan Stanley is crediting President Joe Biden's economic policies with driving an unexpected surge in the U.S. economy that is so significant that the bank was forced to make a 'sizable upward revision' to its estimates for U.S. gross domestic product.
Biden's Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is 'driving a boom in large-scale infrastructure,' wrote Ellen Zentner, chief U.S. economist for Morgan Stanley, in a research note released Thursday. In addition to infrastructure, 'manufacturing construction has shown broad strength,' she wrote.Bidenomics, a term first coined by republicans as a dig at president Biden, has been coopted by the Biden campaign, like Dark Brandon, and is going to be repeated back at them again and again in the 2024 presidential campaign because Bidenomics is working.
So over 13 million new jobs created. The labor force has the highest share of working-age Americans in over 20 years.
Spending on manufacturing is triple the 2010s average, hitting a $189B annual rate.
America continues to have the lowest inflation and strongest economic growth of the world's leading economies.
Biden delivered $42 billion in funding to give every American household access to high speed internet by 2030, projects that republicans across the country are touting to their constituents despite voting against it.
And you guys want to bring a twice-indicted rapist who lost more jobs than he created, let a million Americans die through mismanagement and neglect, and added $8 trillion to the debt in only four years back to the White House?
Long past time to Quit the Cult, folks. Do it before the ugly facts of the next two indictments leave you no place to hide.

Exactly. I left the democrat party years ago.
And so what if Trump is indicted, he's not president anymore, just a private citizen.
But then on the other hand....
I hear impeach Biden rumors everywhere, something about bribes, 17 million dollars, money laundering....

You know it's a Cult when they tell you the crimes don't matter if they're crimes done by a private citizen. Well, except if the private citizen is Hunter Biden.
And you do understand that your hero is claiming protection against prosecution in his documents indictment by way of the Presidential Records Act which <check notes> applies only to presidents.
And perhaps you're also unaware that the next two indictments will be for crimes your hero committed while he was president.

You're going to need a high crime or misdemeanor. I know several House republicans are morons who think a disagreement over border policy is a high crime or misdemeanor but you're going to need more morons. Oh, Biden was bribed? Yeah, I can't wait to see Trump's own former AG Bill Barr tell republicans he investigated that accusation when Trump was still in office and said, in Barr's colorful language, it was bullsh!t.

Get over Trump. I'm not worried about him. Why should I be? Trump won his first election and lost the second. I'm over it. Whatever will be, will be. If it's not Trump in 2024 another worthy Conservative will step up to the plate and become our next President.
I'm just sitting back enjoying all the bravo talk from this left leaning Board trying to convince us Biden is the greatest president ever.

I also credit Biden's Reagan-Bush- Trump tax policies and not "raising taxes on the rich" leaving their class-warrior-but-realy-corporatist supporters to whimper about a 15% tax that didn't hit the economy in critical mass yet and that many of their corporate gods can wiggle out of anyway.
Hat tip to your Supply Siders. Naturally Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and that whole Cabal would be for it.
Yes, it's complete. *SOme* lol sang about peace and love and dope and brown rices and backpacks was all they needed. Then they got haircuts. They went to work for the man. They chased the 401K money. They know they sold out and they sort of hate they did.

Talk about dementia.
When Biden was elected my expectations were pretty low. But for me, Biden was the only choice in a race that pitted him against the most corrupt, vile, lying, criminal president who's ever held the office. And now we're finally seeing those crimes prosecuted.
Unless you're totally dishonest, and even if you disagree with his policies, you have to admit that Biden has accomplished much in just two years.
Adding over 13 million new jobs in just over two years has never been accomplished, at least going back to post-WWII. Biden is averaging over 400,000 jobs per month.
Presidents have talked about an Infrastructure Bill for decades and Trump claimed one was just two weeks away throughout his entire presidency. Biden got it done. Biden helped pass the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package to increase investment in the national network of bridges and roads, airports, public transport and national broadband internet, as well as waterways and energy systems.
He capped prescription drug prices at $2,000 per year for seniors on Medicare through the Inflation Reduction Act. If you are a senior citizen on medication or know one, you kow this is a big deal. And drug makers rolled back prices on insulin for the first time ever.
Biden strengthened the NATO alliance in support of Ukraine after the Russian invasion by endorsing the inclusion of world military powers Sweden and Finland... and got Turkey to drop its opposition to Sweden joining NATO.
He got Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices through the Inflation Reduction Act, saving money for citizens and also reducing government health spending.
He backed and signed the PACT Act.
I could also list record low Black unemployment, cutting child poverty in half, gun safety legislation and other successes.
But seriously, which of these do you object to? And which of these do you consider inconsequential?
No. of Recommendations: 0
Yes, I think Biden's mending of fences with our allies is probably his biggest contribution. This includes the expansion of NATO, though -credit where it's due- Putin helped a lot with that. He's also reestablishing our influence in parts of the world that Trump abandoned (e.g. Asia/Pacific). That is in our best interests.
The one thing I can agree with LM about is that Trump helped to take the SCOTUS hard-right. Helped by McConnell (stealing at least one SCOTUS seat during the Obama years). Trump screwed-up pretty much everything else. Biden appears to be fixing it, but the SCOTUS will live on for quite a while in its current form.

We all know though Biden is up against a lot of accusations with creditable witnesses and information and could be on the verge of impeachment, not to mention the cover up for Hunter and getting him off with a slap on the wrist.
Unless you're totally dishonest, and even if you disagree with his policies, you have to admit that Biden has accomplished much in just two years.Normal achievement for a president in Office, some of which benefit Biden emerging from the pandemic.
Now lets have a link at the other side of the coin....
Gas prices remain at a seven-year high ' levels not seen since Joe Biden was Vice President.
An increase in the cost of everyday goods and services disproportionately hurts lower-income families. Real average hourly earnings have decreased by 1.7 percent because of inflation.
On top of rising prices for everyday goods, costs for other essential services like health care are also rising. Seniors are seeingthe largest ever Medicare Part B premium increase in 2022.
President Biden's weak leadership and lack of foreign policy strategy have crippled the United States' power and influence on the world stage. Afghanistan has fallen to the Taliban, China has ramped up its aggression against Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the Uyghurs, and now, Russia has invaded Ukraine.
Vladimir Putin ' and the rest of the world ' saw President Biden withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan without concrete plans to protect Americans and Afghan citizens or prevent the Taliban from taking over the country.
President Biden's bad energy policies have emboldened Moscow to expand its energy foothold throughout Europe.
Sadly, fentanyl overdoses are now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration found a "direct link" between Mexican cartels and fentanyl-related overdose deaths.
Regular Americans are paying the price and experiencing the consequences of the Biden Administration's failing transportation policies.

Biden said that the border crisis didn't begin 'overnight.' Actually, it pretty much did begin overnight'the moment he took office. Since he was sworn in as president, there have been an estimated 5.5 million illegal border crossings.
snip
'Border towns are besieged, but the whole country is now experiencing the effects of the illegal immigration crisis.
Not only are millions of people crossing the border illegally, the border situation has created additional problems beyond the humanitarian issue. Huge quantities of illicit drugs such as fentanyl are coming across the border, too, brought here by drug and human traffickers who thrive in the chaos.
It's not a stretch to say that Biden has created the worst border crisis in U.S. history. We've set records for border crossings in each of his first two years as president, and at the current rate, we will set an illegal border-crossing record again this year.
This is all while Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas again and again assures us that the border is 'secure.'

'Inflation may be slowing down a bit'while food prices soar'but for the most part, the U.S. economy under Biden has suffered its highest levels of inflation since the Jimmy Carter administration in the late 1970s.
The result is that while the U.S. economy has low unemployment, for now, inflation and the cost of living are wiping out the wealth of the average American.
In fact, according to E.J. Antoni, an economist at The Heritage Foundation, the average American family has lost $7,100 in purchasing power under Biden due to inflation and high interest rates. So, while the Biden administration has celebrated a rise in take-home pay, the reality is that inflation during his presidency has more than nullified those gains.
Antoni also took issue with Biden's spin on the slowing inflation. Slightly lower inflation is hardly a major victory.
'[Biden] is right to say inflation is going down, but that is not the same as prices going down. Inflation going down means that prices are still rising, just not quite as fast as before. A 7.1% inflation rate is still horrific. It means prices will double in about a decade,' Antoni said in a December interview with The Daily Signal, the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation.'

'In April, the Biden administration issued guidance through the Department of Health and Human Services to ensure that 'transgender youth receive the care they need.'
What does that mean? This is from a Justice Department memo released at the same time:
Intentionally erecting discriminatory barriers to prevent individuals from receiving gender-affirming care implicates a number of federal legal guarantees. State laws and policies that prevent parents or guardians from following the advice of a health care professional regarding what may be medically necessary or otherwise appropriate care for transgender minors may infringe on rights protected by both the Equal Protection and the Due Process Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment.
The bottom line is that Biden, with the power of the federal government, wants to ensure that your child will be gender-transitioned, whether you like it or not.'

'A more recent development in the Biden presidency has been the discovery that he had classified documents from when he was the vice president under President Barack Obama.
Of course, when the FBI seized documents from former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago compound in Florida, the media treated it as the scandal of the century. At the time, Biden said he couldn't believe how 'anyone could be that irresponsible' to keep classified documents.
The media are working overtime to draw a distinction here to soften the blow for Biden, but the reality is that this looks bad for the president. It also undermines their arguments about Trump and Republicans being some kind of unique threat to the country.'
Even Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, said that the recent discovery of classified materials in Biden's Delaware home and the Penn Biden Center 'diminishes the stature of any person who is in possession of it' and that Biden 'bears ultimate responsibility.'

Your lone accuser, Mykola Zlochevsky, is a Ukranian oligarch wanted on suspicion of embezzlement and for attempting to bribe Ukrainian prosecutors in order to drop all charges against him. He fled Ukraine and is in hiding.
On 18 April 2018, a recording of part of a conversation between President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and fugitive Ukrainian lawmaker Oleksandr Onyshchenko was released by Onyshchenko which implicated Zlochevsky in graft. Zlochevsky was accused of having illegally issued, while he was Ecology Minister in 2010'2012, oil and gas licenses to the companies that belonged to him.
His accusation was relayed through an FBI informant who has stated, for the record, that he knows nothing about the Bidens and Ukraine beyond what Zlochevsky said, has no idea if Zlochevsky is making sh!t up, and is "not able to provide any further opinion as to the veracity" of the claims.
In short, Zlochevsky made a claim with no evidence to support the claim.
None.

Come on now, you know what an investigation would entail - to some degree anyway. Start with follow up interviews of Zlochevsky and ask him about the audio tapes and texts. When were these obtained? Where were you when to obtained these items? On each occasion, was anyone else in the room with you who could collaborate? If some of these were recorded phone calls, are there records of those calls? Were there any other persons with the person you were recording? Where are these tape recordings and texts right now? Can we get a transcript or an actual copy of the audio? Under what conditions would you make them available?
Publish the answers or a summary thereof. At the least the public would know that they FBI did investigate. Right now all we have is crickets. Is that enough to satisfy you? It isn't for me.

Yes.
The allegations in the 1023 surfaced years ago when Rudy Giuliani was working with Russians 4 Trump® and shared the information with the Justice Department. Then-Attorney General Bill Barr tapped former Pittsburgh US Attorney Scott Brady to oversee an FBI investigation into the matter. Remember, this is years ago, and reportedly the information generated no credible evidence so the case was never moved to a formal inquiry or investigation.
Here's where it gets murky.
Today Barr says, don't ask me, I'm not aware of the case being closed -- he always chooses his words carefully, dontchaknow -- but ask U.S. attorney David Weiss because the case was turned over to him.
Weiss -- who has rebutted a key element of testimony to Congress by an Internal Revenue Service official who said that Weiss complained about being blocked from pursuing the case the way he wanted -- will not comment other than to describe the investigation as 'ongoing'.
Hunter Biden's attorney says Hunter Biden was informed the investigation into him was closed but there may be others who are still under investigation in the case, otherwise he wouldn't have pled guilty.
So, do Hunter Biden haters still have a hope and a prayer? Yeah, but if Trump had to try to extort Ukraine into simply announcing an investigation of the Bidens, I wouldn't hold my breath.

What is Medicare funded by?
Funding for Medicare, which totaled $888 billion in 2021, comes primarily from general revenues (46%), payroll tax revenue.
who sponsored medicare?
President Lyndon Johnson
On July 30, 1965, President Lyndon Johnson traveled to the Truman Library in Independence, Missouri, to sign Medicare into law. His gesture drew attention to the 20 years it had taken Congress to enact government health insurance for senior citizens after Harry Truman had proposed it.
Is Medicare deducted from Social Security?
Yes. In fact, if you are signed up for both Social Security and Medicare Part B ' the portion of Medicare that provides standard health insurance ' the Social Security Administration will automatically deduct the premium from your monthly benefit. The standard Part B premium in 2023 is $164.90 a month.

Medicare Part B only covers drugs that typically aren't self-administered, usually drugs administered during a hospital visit or stay. One of the things that Pharma does to keep the $$$$$ flowing in is to maintain a new drug's patent as long as possible. That translates to a bag of tricks that enable patent extension. The original patent is for roughly 10 years once a drug enters the market.
