Funds the government through March or so.

When the new Congress takes over, they need to do a budget via regular order. I more of this CR nonsense.

---------------

This is by no means a mere "Continuing" Resolution as it contains a number of new spending and new legislative initiatives. Calling it "continuing" is a misnomer used to mask what the congress weasels (both sides) are really up to.

The Democrats blame Musk for killing the first CR when all he did was expose some of the outrageous spending and policy initiatives that was obfuscated in the 1,547 pages by the weasels. Better kept it all quiet until it passes, and then we can find out what's in it.

After all that is how it always has been done. Vote for each others waste, and they all go home for Christmas to tell their constituencies what great statesmen they are for having avoided a crisis of their own creation. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

the 1,547 pages

I don't understand this obsession with the length of a bill. Why do the number of pages matter? Shouldn't it be the content of the pages that gets scrutinized? Certainly someone can explain what got cut from this long bill and how eliminating those things makes the bill better.

There has long been a concern about putting policy pieces into the budget bill. The changes had little to do with budget, and mostly deal with policy. Some of things that got cut are:
Increased consequences for "revenge porn"
Improvements to the way pharmacies handle drug payments
Pay raises for congress
limiting US investment in China
Protection for food stamp theft
funding for pediatric cancer research

It was mostly theater...

Peter, Peter, Peter, you silly rabbit.

MAGA elected an individual because they were impressed by his gold colored toilets.

In the MAGA cult world, even the most tacky of appearances far outweigh any silly facts.
