"As of September 2022, around 10 thousand men and 80 thousand women in Japan were aged 100 years and older. The total number of centenarians in that year added up to about 90.5 thousand in the country. Figures have increased continuously over the past two decades."

With the recent investments in the Japanese trading houses, Warren is practically Japanese now. He should comfortably remain CEO for another 7 years. Just enough time to compound Berkshire at 7.2% p.a.

Happy birthday Warren Buffett. You shareholders need you!

I beat you by a decade or so (1996). I remember discussing my purchase with an investing friend who asked me what I was doing. "$32,000 a share! What are you thinking? He's old and probably won't be around for much longer."

I was hoping for a good long term investment that would be a 10-bagger. Well, it's now 2023 - I guess that qualifies as long term. I've purchased a fair number of additional shares over the years, have done quite a bit better than the 10-bagger I was seeking and Warren is still around.

Thanks Warren. My wife and I are enjoying a comfortable retirement thanks to your skill, discipline and prudence. And, there should be a nice chunk left which will go to philanthropy.

Happy birthday Warren. Now if we can just get another 27 years out of you...
