One of the more cruel things done by the government were medical experiments on beagles.
That's all done now.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/nih-closes-experi...NIH closes experimentation labs accused of brutally killing thousands of beagles for 40+ years
Dog experimentation labs ran for more than 40 years, animal rights advocates sayBefore someone poopposts that BADORANGEMANHATESMEDICALRESEARCH - and someone will - yes, medical research is important.
But having flies eat the eyes out of beagles? Yeah, that's demonic. And not something we need to do.
And as an added bonus:
The Indiana-based company that bred the beagles for research, Envigo, pleaded guilty in 2024 to neglecting thousands of dogs at its Cumberland, Virginia, breeding facility, and will be required to pay more than $35 million in fines, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.Fry them. Fry them harder than $35M.

Envigo shut down the facility in September 2022 after an investigation by the Justice Department. Donny 2 Dolls was fighting his own lawsuits at the time. Envigo lawsuit finally settled in 2024.
I agree $35 million seems light.

Dope1:
Before someone poopposts that BADORANGEMANHATESMEDICALRESEARCH - and someone will - yes, medical research is important.Actually, Joe Biden did that.
Well, his Department of Justice.
Is Mad King Donald taking credit for closing the final facility after the others were closed during the Biden years?
From July 18,
2022The Justice Department worked with the HSUS to develop a plan to transfer the 4,000 remaining beagles from the Cumberland facility and make those beagles available for adoption. The transfer plan, which was jointly submitted by the Justice Department and Envigo RMS, was approved by the District Court on July 5. Under the transfer plan, the HSUS will coordinate the enormous effort to remove all of the beagles from the Cumberland facility over the course of 60 days.
“This settlement brings to an end the needless suffering caused by Envigo’s blatant violations of animal welfare laws at this facility,” said Assistant Attorney General Todd Kim of the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD). “We will continue to vigorously enforce animal welfare laws to ensure that animals are provided the humane care that they are legally owed and deserve.”Envigo pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate the Animal Welfare Act and the penalty was the largest ever agreed-to fine in an AWA case.
Thanks, Joe!
FU Mad King Donald.

Magats to replace them by the millions.

Bonus! Musk's neuralink (or however you spell that) is under investigation for AWA. But assuredly nothing will come of it. This regime manages to claim the moral low ground, then dig a ditch and throw the bar in so they can lower the bar even more...

They just use magats instead. Cheaper AND breed faster--but on a steady downward slide in any/all important factor(s).
