How do I not get screwed over by Cupertino?

Do I use the Costco buying service. Find out what it costed Apple to make the device and what it considers the apple store's aggregate cost to sell it, and then go negotiate with the rep at the Apple Store? After all they aren't a local business making 8% per sale, their earnings show billions and their balance sheet is better than most countries on earth.

Do I get the CostCo price on my new Mac, then go get 3% less than that and then complain about the haggling and buying process afterwards?
