commonone: Again, she is close to both of her parents and never has spoken an unkind word about either one. So which is more likely to be true: what a drug addict may have written while under the influence of drugs or what an adult woman, clean of drugs, happy, working in her chosen career, says today about her father and mother?

Drug addicts, alcoholics and others under the influence will inadvertently say things, in other words, the truth they would not admit to while sober.

Now sober and perhaps with counseling sessions she has reconcile with her parents.
That is common when one is in recovery mode.
