A readers observation on betting sites: people were betting on Can Xue to take this year's Nobel Prize in literature. She was the odds-on favorite.

Xue was the favorite last year as well.

Certainly she would win this year after being the favorite two years in a row.

Announced this morning, Han Kang has won.

Evidently betting sites can be wrong. Who knew?
