Trump favored fossil fuel development. During his term, he approved a major oil pipeline, the Keystone; expedited the Dakota Access pipeline; and signed an executive order to expand offshore drilling.

The Heritage Foundation’s sweeping plan for a future Republican presidency, Project 2025, which is partly led by former Trump administration officials, calls for increasing the production of fossil fuels and declares that the federal government has an “obligation to develop vast oil and gas and coal resources” on public lands.

Trump has opposed government support for renewable energy. Both Project 2025 and Trump have called for the dismantling of energy transition programs and for rollbacks of renewable energy tax credits enacted by the Biden administration...

Trump rolled back more than 100 environmental regulations during his term as president. Most of them were aimed at reducing the emissions of heat-trapping gases, including measures that limited pollution from power plants, cars and trucks. Project 2025 calls for Trump to do the same in a second term. He has pledged to rescind “every one” of the Biden administration’s regulations that are aimed at accelerating the transition to renewable energy sources and promoting electric vehicles.

Trump wanted to plant one trillion trees. While Trump has called climate change a hoax in the past, he has also said he wants to protect the environment. In 2020, Trump signed onto a plan to plant one trillion trees, and although he hasn’t focused on it recently, Republicans have continued to support it. Planting trees is not nearly enough to slow warming, and planting the wrong trees can be really bad for the environment.
Trump also wanted to nuke hurricanes. He's just plain stupid but thinks he's a genius.

---------------

It's almost like forty percent of the country is trapped in a chapter of the Douglas Adams book The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, a location so distorted by the intergalactic forces of gravity that time itself stands still, making it the worst place to have a restaurant and host parties because at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe, parties never end, which means all of the bad ideas that only seem to be good ideas at parties continue to seem like good ideas.
