So...we're going to miss the Tulip Festival. But we'll still be there during tulip season. I'm wondering how best to take advantage of this time. I see tours advertising windmills, and canal boats. Which may also be cool. But we should probably take advantage of the tulips during the few weeks that they are in bloom.

Any advice??

A canal boat ride in Amsterdam is def worth doing. Windmill tour doesn't do a lot for me. There are some great small cities within a quick train/tram ride: e.g., Haarlem, Leiden, Utrecht. I'd opt for that--in fact I will be. DW and I will be based in Haarlem for a week in mid-May.

We'll be there on the 9th, and again on the 14th. Assuming those stops aren't cancelled. They were last year, due to weather.
