“I understand why young Palestinian and Arab Americans in Michigan think too many people have died, but if you lived in one of those kibbutzim in Israel, right next to Gaza, where the people there were the most pro-friendship with Palestine — the most pro-two-state solution of any of the Israeli communities were the ones right next to Gaza, and Hamas butchered them,” he notes.
“The people who criticize [Israel’s response] are essentially saying, ‘Yeah, but look how many people you’ve killed in retaliation, how many is enough for you to kill to punish them for the terrible things they did?'”
“That all sounds nice until you realize what you would do if it was your family and you hadn’t done anything but support a homeland for the Palestinians, and one day they come for you and slaughter the people in your village.”
“You would say, ‘You have to forgive me, but I’m not keeping score that way.’ It isn’t how many we’ve had to kill because Hamas makes sure that they’re shielded by civilians. They’ll force you to kill civilians if you want to defend yourself,” Clinton says."

this is *not* a backhand compliment it's sincere.

I just love how President Clinton can convey his point of view. I love his working knowledge of the details and his intellectual curiosity.

Most of his foreign policy I didn't like. I'd say- Bosnia - good job. I guess it's another EuroTrash mess the Big Dog America had to clean up. Ireland - ok fine, good. Back then - I wanted the best for America so I just couldn't get over the sellout to China. Also I felt we were a bit too poll conscious and too 'international law' conscious on things like getting bin Laden mind you - Bush didn't do shit on OBL either so it's not like "my guy" was better but at least my guy didn't care about globalist editorial writers.

DOMESTIC policy - I felt he was marvelous at telling the Progressive/Sheeple wing of his party to sit down and shut up. HIllaryCare was a disaster and Newt took over Congress - this is back when my party had real ideas. Clinton wisely moved Rightward and whether he did it voluntarily or did it out of cunning, he did it. And I appreciated more cops on street, PRO death penalty, welfare reform. I feel the Left loves to give too much credit for certain things for instance: Little Known Fact: Ross Perot's charts had said the budget will balance itself for awhile. It did. AND there was a peace dividend because we beat the Liberal Soviet Union. The economy was GROWING robustly by the time Clinton was sworn in and all that dot-come stuff and ensuing wealth effect - well, the assistant Manager at Burger King could've been President and that all would still have happened. DEFICIT REDUCTION- Ross Perot gave him a mandate to get some stuff done on that. None of this praise means I brush over all the Arkansas scandals etc. It just means that unlike Sheeple - I can discern and I can see good and bad in the same entity -- and I can voice it because on my side, the Dopes and Lurkers and Mikes don't jump on me for that.

But looking back - in addition to intellectual curiosity, I think the man truly gave a shit about people. Was interested in people. I love his love for yummy food back in the day, his love for music both listening and playing, his enjoyment of movies and how he'd talk about them...and yeah, hot temper - big whoop I dont care. Many people at the top blow their top at times. He loved to laugh also which is important.

I guess now, when I look at the Indecent Man I am gonna vote for, versus the total empty suit teenie-bopper I'm voting against...........I guess someone like Bill Clinton I miss even more. Or appreciate certain qualities more mind you I had come to these conclusions years ago.

Biggest regret about Clinton: How my side went after him. Yeah I know, perjury. But the shit we look the other way on vis Avis trump - my goodness. The ONE woman thing I can't forgive is Juanita Broderick - rape accuser and in HER case she's not walking around with trade mark glasses on grinning ear to ear cashing her newest paycheck. I sincerely believe if the Lewinsky thing hadn't happened - Clinton and Newt would've done Social Security and Medicare and we missed out on what I feel was the best intellectual policy firepower from Right and Left nailing that one on our behalf.

Anyhow, when the man speak I enjoy listening. On one hand I am so glad his upright, kicking, and doing his thing but part of me sees the age kicking in. The frailty. It sort of makes me sad.

Like Rocky Balboa says Time. Time takes everyone out eventually. Time is undefeated.

Anyhow, it's nice to rant about a time ---when I gave a shit.
