Thanks for the update, 1poorguy. Glad the ID.4 is working well for you.
The Bolt for us is the same. Nothing wrong in 44k miles other than the battery issue - we've been restricted to 80% charge for 18 months.
Our dealer just ordered the new battery for us under the recall.
The Bolt or Bolt EUV are great deals right now. They qualify for the full $7500 tax credit. Net cost can be in the low $20s. Unfortunately, GM are discontinuing the Bolt later this year. They said the new Equinox EV coming out in the fall will be priced at $30k+. We'll see. I expect they will prioritize the Silverado EV truck, and not the car that competes with the Tesla Model Y, ID.4, Mach E, Iconiq 5, EV6, etc.
We haven't driven the ID.4 yet. With the price cuts at Tesla I thought we'd likely get a Model Y. We test drove a Y and a 3 and I liked them a lot. Definitely more performance than we need from either car. A rear-wheel drive Y with 250 mile range would be ideal. Maybe that's what this is:
https://electrek.co/2023/05/16/tesla-teases-next-c...Tesla has teased its next electric car with a new image of the silhouette, and Elon Musk says it is already being built.$40k with $7500 tax credit would be very attractive.
Then I'd just have to get past the Elon ick factor, which is very, very strong right now.
I really do not want people to think I support his authoritarian opinions.
Maybe Tesla should come out with some special colors? Bright red for the MAGA crowd. Bright blue for those who want a great EV but think Musk is an a-hole.
