We also have a gas water heater. Next time it fails (every 7 or 8 years), I may replace it with an electric. We'll see. There is an outlet handy there. = 1pg

Just for future planning, that convenience outlet is 120v and an electric WH takes 240V and should be on a dedicated circuit back to your breaker box. $$$
