It’s going to get worse, before it gets worse. 🤔
Anyone thinking this craziness is going to magically get better anytime soon is delusional, IMHO. It’s like this administration is determined to drive the economy off a cliff for some reason.
And now we can see they will just blame it on Biden’s BLS, or Powell, or whatever. And the stupid followers will believe it. So damn frustrating.

Why do you feel that you need to throw in the term "stupid followers". Why can't you just say that they may not get the outcome they desire.
By the way, one of the supporters of Trump's policies is my "stupid follower friend" who by the way graduated from Harvard Medical School and had a pretty solid career.
I'm no slouch myself.
Everybody has an opinion. Some will turn out to be correct. Some may not. You may want to wait more than a day before you pat yourself on the back as having unique insights that the rest of us somehow are unable to process.
For example. Larry Summers has been critical of policy, Trumps and Powell for years. However, I am glad he is not managing my money. Because he is typically well regarded and often wrong.
I am sure that the countries debt is a real problem and it is out of control. I am afraid that it won't be addressed until it is very late in the game to change course. This is not a MAGA development.
The tariff stuff is not at the same level of concern. It may surprise you and go OK or it may need adjustments along the way. The economy has been in expansion for a long time. Lower employment numbers are consistent with the ADP reports as of late. It is likely due to the uncertainty around changes in tariffs. But I don't think that it will sink the ship.

Sorry, I was referring to the rubes who don’t know any better and will believe the data is rigged, the election is stolen, it’s all Biden’s fault, yadayadayada.
You are obviously not a rube, and it perplexes me even more when otherwise smart people continue to support this immoral, brutish toddler of a president. Burning down the country for a tax break (or whatever the motivation is) strikes me as some pretty short sighted behavior.
Lots of “smart” people supported Hitler as well.

My view doesn't change based on stock prices nor economic data. Good data and rising markets bring arrogance and put-downs while bad data and down markets bring the most dominating feature of all - the grievance dance.
Those that love DJT, and that group does have large numbers of come-and-goers, give too much credit to his business "success" and his ability to lead and solve problems.
Those that despise DJT, and that group also has a bunch of come-and-go people, give too much credit to his business "success" and his ability to lead and solve problems.
Donald does an excellent job of random waffling, moody envious old man bat shit crazy stuff that without a doubt is the most media dominating behavior of all time. The less logical the more some like it; the more inconsistent the more some can't get enough of it. And DJT loves getting people to fight so he can watch and instigate. Some people think they are gaining and thus become obsessed over the empowerment they feel while some feel belittled and destined for a terrible life. My guess is neither gets what they think they'll get, both will get about the same outcome.
Nothing has changed for Donald for half a century except that the platform is now global and most importantly he has rescued himself from financial failure.
The skill that DJT excels with is being able to crawl out from nobody-else-gains chaos with a nice paycheck.

It is ABSOLUTELY a MAGA development. Pouring gasoline on a fire is a problematic development if your goal is extinguishing the fire. When an alleged fire fighter (republican) is the one pouring the gas on the fire, that is a very problematic development for those interested in fighting the fire. The last president to actually reduce the deficit was Clinton, and his success was immediately undermined by Bush. The republicans long ago gave up any actual claims to being fiscal hawks.

Faith is an interesting thing. It leads us to believe in things that are not possible, not desirable, and not true. Tariffs will not surprise us by going ok. They will hit consumers hard and cause a significant recession. The damage caused to the US dollar is already reflected in this latest Berkshire earnings report. As the report notes, it is likely to get worse.
The worst part of what is happening in the first six months of this administration is the assault on information. The attacks on public broadcasting, government produced data, the broadcast media, the universities, and first amendment activism, makes it increasingly difficult for people to get reliable facts, reinforcing the faith based systems of knowledge the current administration prefers.
As an investor, this is a disaster. How can I determine what is going on in the economy if the data I rely on from the BLS is being censored? As a retiree, how can I trust the inflation data that determine my cost of living increases for social security?

May I ask the "silent majority" here why they recommend such a post which definitely does not belong on the Berkshire board the same as they rec iluvbaby´s Q2 2025 Summary of Berkshire Hathaway (both over a dozen recs)?
You, the people who recommend such, are as guilty as the ones posting such for the degeneration of this board.

We are frogs in a rapidly warming pot and it won't be long before we are cooked. Delusional, no wonder the democrats keep losing reasonable and smart people.
I have a lot of friends who are Democrats, and they’re idiots. I always say they have big hearts and little brains. They do not understand how the real world works. Almost every single policy rolled out failed.”

Let me add.
Please check out the recent Ken Langone CNBC on July 15th. He is far more credible than I am.
I assume you know who he is.
He was a complete Trump skeptic. Not anymore.
