I have desperately missed the atheist board since the Fool took it away. Not because we always posted about atheist issues or religious outrages, but because it gave a place where we could discuss lots of things, sometimes with a mild political bent, without generating the vitriol that happened at so many others boards, not to mention Yahoo, Facebook, etc.
So while there have been multiple times when I've wished for the Atheist board to be reconstituted because of a specific issue or topic, today is not one of them. But I will say 'Hi there, and welcome, and a generous round of applause for Manlobbi for putting this together.'
[And not to diminish the effort, but it occurs to me that for all the Fool's bitching and carping about how hard it was to maintain the software and the spaghetti code and all the problems entailed with running the 'free boards', the fact that someone - on their own time, without compensation, without a cadre of workers to whip into a frenzy - could do something so reasonably similar in such a short amount of time makes me somewhat skeptical about all the Fool's wailing and gnashing of teeth lo these many years.]
Anyway, forward (into the past), for all you Firesign Theater types.

I just wanted to say, thank God for this board!
I didn't notice there was an Atheist board on TMF, or I forgot.

I'm happy to be the first to post here
Seems fitting. The old Atheist board contains roughly 55 0000 threads and your presence can be felt in more than 6% of them, up until the very end. God knows how many posts there... oh, wait.

I wholeheartedly agree. It's a lovely present, just in time for the holidays!

HA, been here twice from other topics, but wasn't motivated to follow up until I saw this board!
Even got to correct the capitalization on my handle!

It is great to see people coming together and that my North Star in working sleeplessly in haste.
It is great that you are posting on new boards also, to boldly go where no man has gone before.
Remember to Shrewd it, Ladies and Gentlemen, and don't hesitate to propose any other boards that you believe you can attract an audience to over time - we can make it happen.
