I've answered directly, and provided even a sacred link to something he "lately" said, and coupled that along with realization of his business prowess as reasons to shake his hand.

One man's jerk, is another's hero.

Just like during 9-11, the TMF taught us that one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

This reminds me of kindergarten, we'd ask "why" after everything lol.

I'd like to shake hands with President Obama, Bill Clinton, Bernie Sanders - even though I don't agree with all they say.

I don't need 100% ideological or rhetorical perfection to respect someone's point of view, or guts to express it.
