A woman asked a Trump supporter: “What did you think when Joe Biden suggested that Covid could be cured by shining a bright light inside the body?”
Answer: “It is very sad that Joe Biden is clearly a dementia patient.”
The interviewer apologized, said she got her notes mixed up and asked if she could begin again.
New question: “What did you think when Donald Trump suggested that Covid could be cured by shining a bright light inside the body?”
New answer: “It depends what that technology is. That’s a broad spectrum, because, you know, you have MRI machines and CT machines and, infrared and different things. So it just depends the context of that.”
The interviewer asked a man: “There are accusations that Joe Biden cheated on his wife with a porn star after his son was born. And there’s actually a paper trail showing he paid the sex worker $130,000 to keep quiet about it.”
Answer: “And he was making, I think, less than $100,000 a year at that time? Now, how does he do that?”

In another interview (not Kimmel), a man said that the Nancy Pelosi laptop would prove that she was behind the Jan. 6 insurrection. When asked why she would want an insurrection, he said she wanted to keep Trump out of the White House. When the interviewer pointed out that the counting of the electoral votes would make the election of Joe Biden official and remove Trump from office in a few days and, therefore, an insurrection to stop the counting could only have the opposite effect of what Pelosi wanted to happen, the man was stumped. He knew Pelosi was to blame. Trump and Fox "News" told him so.
Yesterday, Bret Baier interviewed Trump (where else, on Fox). Part of it went like this...
BAIER: “What do you say to that female independent suburban voter who feels that way to win her back?”
TRUMP: “First of all, I won in 2020 by a lot. Let’s get that straight. If you look at all the tapes... When you have people stuffing the ballot boxes on tape...”
Baier kept telling Trump he lost the election, there was insufficient voter fraud to make a difference in the outcome, he lost 60 court challenges, but Trump kept claiming he won the election.
And the cult believes that sh!t. About 60% of republicans believe Biden's presidency is illegitimate because Fox "News" has been pumping out that bullsh!t for almost three years now and republican voters cannot admit to themselves that they're supporting a man who talks about windmills killing whales, said COVID-19 would magically disappear and did almost nothing while over one million Americans died from the disease, suggested that injecting disinfectant may be a way to beat the virus, constantly complains about water pressure, says he'll impose a 60 percent tariff on all goods imported from Chyna, repeatedly confused Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi, said Israel is the capital of Israel, suggests he would withdraw the United States from NATO, believes Vladimir Putin over our FBI, CIA, and State Department, was impeached twice, is under 91 felony indictment in four jurisdictions, raped a woman, leads an organization that committed fraud, is psychologically aberrant, and, oh, yeah... engaged in multiple efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
So you tell us: how do you have a sensible discussion with people so completely detached from reality?

The past week there were several stunning events that reflect very poorly on Trump and the MAGA cult.
It takes a bit of time for the absolutely cultish behavior of dismissing the gravity of those events, and a bit more to restart the cult chants.
'Fifrteen hours' is distressingly quick, indicative of the depth to which MAGA has been inculcated by Trump organization.

This weekend I went over the papers given to us by 1poorlady's doctor for a study she may be eligible for. For example. (Plus, I hopped on our daughter's XBOX for a bit...she got me to play her game, and now I'm hooked).
Two good things would come out of a Trump term. First, I'll ignore the news for the next four years. I just had to tune out Trump last time because he was so phenomenally stupid, ignorant, embarrassing (I actually had one person in Europe -when we were traveling- ask me "what is going on over there", to which I responded "I have no idea...I didn't vote for that moron"). Second, I will be able to come say "told ya so" (e.g. Trump will not be able to do anything on the border without Congressional action, he will reduce our standing overseas, our enemies -China and Russia in particular- will advance their aims without US opposition, etc).
Meanwhile, I have to head to New Atlantis to take care of TWO missions... :-)
