While we were all watching the Republican violent coup attempt to overthrow our republic, the SCOTUS executed a radical right wing bloodless coup, effective today.
They will determine what safety features planes have, they will determine what medical procedures you are allowed to have, they will determine what clear air is. They will determine how safe medicine is, what medicine you can take, how safe your food is.
They will determine who can vote (it’s ok to eliminate black voters by just saying your gerrymandering was done for political reasons, not racial reasons. Wink, wink.).
Want to murder a political opponent? Just call it an “official” act. Who determines if it’s “official”? The SCOTUS (just say it was for national security reasons, not political reasons. Wink, wink).
America has lost the bragging rights to “no man is above the law.”
The SCOTUS could care less about the Constitution. They’ve given up any pretense of pretending to use it a a guide.
We are becoming an oligarchy where bribing the SCOTUS is not only public and allowed, it is welcome.
Freedom of religion? Kiss that goodbye. You will study the Bible as determined by your school superintendent. The books you read determined by right wing activists. Financial restrictions? Ha!
Unless you are an oligarch, you will rue this day, even right wingers. They no longer need their obsequious base and will hurt them as long as the oligarchs get richer.
