t occurred to me that republicans criticize cities because they never govern them. You'd be hard pressed to find five cities with republican majorities in the city council and mayor's office.

Worse is being in charge for decades, and having your "citizens"...... kept in pseudo 3rd world lives.
Fix that - then criticize those NOT in charge, by your own admission.
In the meantime....
Let proponents of diversity and immigration call for 10,000,0000 high tech visas this year.
Their crime numbers will be below national average. Their kids will be average or above average in their school district test scores.
No catch and release - just plain legal and orderly.
